Requirements

To run RapidJ you will need:

• Windows or Linux operating system.
• Java Standard Edition version 1.4 or better (http://java.sun.com/j2se/).
• Apache Ant version 1.5 or better (http://ant.apache.org/).

The applications generated by RapidJ have their own requirements. The Web Application application type requires:

• Application server with support for the following J2EE 1.3 APIS:
  • Servlets 2.3
  • JSP 1.2
  • JDBC 2.0
  • JNDI 1.2
  • JTA 1.0
• Database server with support for JDBC 2.0.

Note 1: RapidJ is distributed with the HSQLDB 1.7 database and the Resin 2.1 application server.

Note 2: Resin is provided under the terms of the Caucho Developer Source License 1.1. You may need to purchase a license from Caucho if you want to use it in production.
